Here are some photo images of Seppala Siberian sled dog teams down through the years.

The history of Seppala sleddog teams spans the period from the Nome Gold Rush to the present. Very little has changed about the Seppala dog in that time.

Dogs belonging to Leonhard Seppala and his partner Elizabeth Ricker in the 1930s (including such Siberia imports as Kree Vanka and Tserko shown here) are the direct ancestors of modern Seppala leaders like Tonya and Lizzy above.

Seppala teams of today are, if anything, more well-behaved and efficient than those of the 1930s and 1940s.
